User Experience
Though differing opinions exist regarding what exactly constitutes great user experience, the LinkedIn website names the four pillars of UX as usability, equitability, enjoyability ,& usefulness. The four pillars seem to be a good starting place for any good User Experience design.
Usability
A website is usable when its purpose is clear and easy to use. In the adjacent image, we see a hypothetical web page for Muesli cereal. Adobe XD was used to create a three part mock up sub-page. The landing page can be seen to the right. The purpose of the page is very clear: To inform users about Muesli cereal and offer helpful testimonials.
Equitability
A design is Equitable when it favors a broad range of people while also accommodating the disabled. Though not as readily apparent when viewing the XD mockup, one can easily modify the design code to read the page text, which is informative and brief. Again the landing page suggests a certain universal appeal with an apolitical image of a mother and daughter enjoying breakfast and a coastal background that most would appreciate.
Enjoyability
A webpage is enjoyable if it gives positive feelings to the user. To the left we see the product information subpage which offers a textual account of Nutrition on the top of the page and an image slider of the product on the page bottom.
Usefulness
The webpage is useful when it satisfies the needs of the user. The user who wishes to know about the nutritional content of a cereal would likely be interested in alternate recipes for the cereal.
